Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) PR and Communications Intern July 2019- September 2019

My role included:

  • Writing Press Releases
  • Creating EDM’s using the program Mailchimp
  • Networking with QTIC’s stakeholders
  • Proof reading and editing formal documents including the Annual Review and AGM Communications
  • Attending and helping co-ordinate events
  • Liaising with QTIC members
  • Interviewing people for quotes

Social media marketing Intern at FLAMANKO March 2019- May 2019

My role included:

  • Creating and sourcing relevant content for multiple clients
  • Scheduling content
  • Writing blogs which were published on their website
  • Email marketing

Austral Volkswagen Receptionist February 2017- June 2018

My responsibilities included:

  • Answer and direct all phone calls
  • Organize lunches and meetings
  • Greet and liaise with customers.

This job allowed me to understand the importance of professionalism and gave me the ability to communicate with all different types of people.

McDonalds Crew Trainer February, 2016- present

I received the employee of the month twice during my time at McDonald’s due to my exemplary customer service skills. I also received the service crew member of the year for 2018.

My role includes:

  • Train new crew
  • Build and maintain customer relationships as I am the stores primary barista
  • Handle cash and count tills
  • Take orders
  • How to correctly and safely prepare and handle food

What I have learnt from this role:

  • This jobs’ fast speed environment has taught me the importance of good communication amongst team members
  • How to communicate effectively under pressure
  • How to solve problems calmly and effectively with unsatisfied customers
  • How to complete a task in a fast and efficient manner

Griffith University Mentor July 2019 – September 2019

My role included:

  • Connect with students who are struggling at university and assist them with getting back on track with their studies
  • Analysing a persons situation and providing relevant support systems when necessary
  • Recording data
  • Liaising with students face-to-face and over the phone

PASS tutoring at Griffith University July 2017- September 2018

Due to my high grades in a previous course I completed at university ‘Introduction to Public Relations’, I was chosen to become a PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) leader for the course.

It was my job to:

  • Create study guides and activities that align with the criteria
  • Help students further understand the course and its’ requirements
  • Attend lectures on a weekly basis and promote the Pass Program to students

Officeworks Marketing Campaign February 2017-March 2017

This job required me to organize, budget and deliver a marketing campaign in a team environment for our client which was Officeworks. This campaign taught me the importance of communication and allowed me to put the concepts I have learnt into practice. My team also received a cash bonus at the end of the campaign due to our hard work and dedication.
