Who is QTIC?

Founded by Daniel Gschwind in 2001, The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) is a non-for-profit, private sector, membership-based organisation which represents the interests of Queensland’s tourism and hospitality industry, acting as “The Voice of Tourism”.

QTIC work collaboratively with government agencies and industry bodies at both a local and state level to strengthen the voice of tourism in policy meetings. QTIC advocate for its members (smaller tourism reliant businesses in QLD) and push for their interests to be heard in the creation and updating of government policy. Working closely with members and partners, they also prepare and present submissions on behalf of the industry. Some of the submissions focus on business regulation, skills development, award modernisation and environmental issues. Their membership program is comprised of more than 3000 regional members, 13 regional tourism organisations and 18 industry sector associations.

QTIC’s main goal is to assist the Tourism industry drive sustainable business and product development, stimulate business attraction and investment, develop workforce skills and support tourism jobs and business.
