Who is FLAMANKO?
I had the pleasure of completing my first internship at FLAMANKO, a social media marketing business located in Fortitude Valley. The small business is comprised of a team of 4 women who all live and breathe social media. Their services include Website Development, Branding, Creative Writing, Video Production, Graphic Design, and Campaign / Event Photography. They are experts at creating and maintaining social media platforms that are consistent with a brand image and persona, ensuring all content is relative, consistent and engaging. FLAMANKO is a small business, however, their clientele is continuing to expand. They currently have 12 clients from all different industries.
What was my role?
Over the term of my internship I gained experience in the following:

What skills did I learn from FLAMANKO?
– How to create catchy and engaging content
– The importance of being ‘on brand’
i.e. making sure all content that is published is consistent with the brand persona and previous posts.
– How to correctly source other peoples images/ programs that have great royalty free images (Pexels & Unsplash).
– How to alter communication and writing styles depending on the brand/ person I am trying to engage with
– The importance of social media and the potential it can have from a marketing perspective
– How to work effectively in a team
– The importance of constructive criticism and how to take it into consideration when improving your work
